Dust Extraction

Postby charliehill » 02 Dec 2009, 21:45

Hi

The manual says to have the dust extraction coming down below the Rat. However to minimise bends, length of run, etc in my workshop I want to do the opposite i.e. extract upwards.

If I do this will it impede the travel of the router please?

Also I have the Manual version 8.3, Summer 2003. I purchased my Woodrat late 2003 and unfortunately never got to grips with it. Now that I am early retired and have moved home I am setting up my new workshop. Early in the New Year I hope to get the Rat up and running and get my head around using it properly. What would the current Manual add to my learning experience please?

Have a look at www aldel co uk to see a lot of information and examples.
The best way is to buil a long square channel in between the router and e.g. the wall. You can mount the WR against the channel and position the dust-canal anywhere on the channel.
