New For 2008

We have some exciting new developments for 2008. The WoodRat just keeps
getting better. The WR5 has been upgraded and is now the WR900. What’s
changed?

New Channel
The new Channel features T-slots on the top and in the front face. Now you
add stops wherever you like. You can also attach all kinds of jigs for
specialist tasks. This is the beauty of the WoodRat system, It also features
improved engineering for a perfectly square section.

New Ali Fences
Tough, ergonomic and perfectly square. The new Aluminium fences now come
with WR5 machines, but can also be fitted to older ‘Rats and the WR600. Why?
Because they feature three T-slots, ideal for those of you who make your own
jigs and add-ons.

Fence Face
A neat addition to your Alu Fence, this bolt on block is designed take up
any play in the Sliding Bar. It also gives you an improved area to attach
sandpaper, giving more grip to the clamp.

New Improved Mitre Box
A bigger, heavy duty Mitre Box. Now made from HDF. The Mitre Box fits into
the cam clamp and holds work at any angle to the cutter. You can use it to
make mitred (secret) dovetails, mitred laps or even hold table-legs
horizontal to cut sliding dovetails.

The Forum is Back
After a sustained spam attack, we have sealed the cracks. Our forum is once
again the place to discuss WoodRat tips and techniques with some crafty and
dedicated Ratters. I’m constantly impressed by the inventiveness and
helpfulness of our members.

British Woodworking
Former “Good Woodworking” Editor Nick Gibbs has taken the bold step of
launching his own, independent magazine. He claims it’s one for the thinking
woodworker. Worth a look. And there’s WoodRat feature in the pipeline.
